Meet Maine Coon Central’s Author
Welcome to my CRAZY CAT LADY page! Thanks for visiting.
My name is Katrina, and I’m literally crackers about the Maine Coon cat breed, so I created this website to share as much of my knowledge about these amazing cats, as I possibly can.
I’m seriously passionate about this breed, so check out my articles for loads of great tips, and tricks:
We bought our Maine Coon from a registered Maine Coon breeder in the United Kingdom when he was a teeny weeny kitten.
He’s now 10 years old, and I literally cannot believe how big he has grown. It’s not like ‘Pippin’ is even particularly big for this breed, either!
I’m pretty sure that my Maine Coon thinks he is a dog!
He talks to us non-stop and follows my husband and me around the house just so that he can be with us. He’s super gentle and has never shown any signs of aggression.
I also don’t find that he sheds much hair at all, it’s more tumbleweeds that roll around our home more than anything else!
NEWSFLASH – DECEMBER 2022
I love the Maine Coon cat breed so much!
So, at the start of December 2022, I adopted TWO more Maine Coon cats. Our home is now packed full of Maine Coons, we are very lucky.
We adopted two Maine Coon brothers, aged 4 years old:
- Bali (A tabby Maine Coon cat)
- Mika (A blue tabby Maine Coon cat)
It’s only been a few days, so both cats are understandably a little nervous still. Thankfully Pippin has welcomed them into our home though, and not acted aggressively to them at all.
Stay tuned to watch their journey.
Where It Began …
I set up this website because I am passionate about the Maine Coon cat breed, and hope to pass on some tips and advice that I have picked up over the years of owning one of these gentle giants.
I am also keen to support my ever-increasingly cat habit, as I have this wild idea that our home should be full of these ‘dog-like cats!!
All of the products and links that I recommend on Maine Coon Central are both reliable, and trustworthy. I only advertise products that I completely love.
If you find any issue with them, please feel free to reach out to me so I can look into the issue.
Just So You Know …
I place Mediavine ads on this site to generate some coin which makes it possible to keep this site moving and grooving (and pay for my cat habit).
They are not there to brass you off, but rather as a necessity, so thanks for understanding.
I also offer advertising space to cat-related companies, so please show your support for them by checking their products out. They can be recognized as banner ads and (occasionally) links.

Please keep in mind two things:
(1) While I am a Maine Coon cat lover, I am not a trained veterinary professional specializing in the Maine Coon cat breed. Therefore, all views and opinions expressed on this website are my own and to the best of my knowledge. Readers need to consult with a veterinary professional licensed in their jurisdiction before making important decisions regarding their Maine Coon cat. This website is offered only as generalized information,
(2) While I do know about Maine Coon cats, I don’t know the laws and breeder requirements in every country. You will need to do some independent research in the country you live.
